Sean Johnson (Dizzy Funk)

Since the late 80s Sean Johnson has been playing House music at events all over the UK and Europe. In 1999 he opened the Groove Records store in his hometown of Peterborough and in 2001 was the founding member of the Dizzy Funk Soundsystem putting on club nights and outdoor free parties with regular guest DJs from the legendary DiY, Babble and Smokescreen sound systems.

Previously, during the 90s, he held residencies at Club UK @ Hollywoods (Ipswich) and The Steering Wheel (Birmingham) and DJed at some of the UK’s top clubs including Ministry of Sound and The Gardening Club (London), Deluxe and The Bomb (Nottingham) and The Institute (Birmingham) playing alongside such DJs as Jon Pleased Wimmin, Lisa Loud, Pete Heller and Paul Trouble Anderson.

Sean currently hosts the fortnightly ‘Dizzy Funk Show’ on MHYH Radio ( – Fortnightly Fridays 8pm-10pm) and this summer launches ‘Dizzy Funk Music’, a new digital label releasing deep, underground House music.
